Finally time for German hinterland work

On Friday, the first sod for the extension of Bundesstraße 207 was taken. A 16 kilometer four-lane road will be established between Puttgarden and Heiligenhafen. The project gives rise to both excitement and concern.

Northern German companies win Fehmarn tasks

The construction activity on the German part of the tunnel construction ensures lots of orders for North German companies. A total of 36 companies from Schleswig-Holstein have so far been involved in the tunnel project.

Stefan Seidler (SSW) is the first member of the German Bundestag from the Danish minority in South Schleswig since 1949. He is not particularly optimistic about whether things will be finished on time on the German side of the Fehmarn Belt.

Member of the Bundestag: Germany probably not ready for Fehmarn opening in 2029

Stefan Seidler, a member of the South Schleswig Voters Association (SSW), is not optimistic that Germany will get its part of the infrastructure ready for the opening of the Fehmarn Tunnel in 2029.
